Dr. Wei Liu is a research associate professor of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of SUSTech. He is currently assistant dean of SUSTech Institute of Robotics. Dr. Liu's research area includes computer vision, surgical robotics and embedded system.

Dr. Liu focuses on visual sensing and embedded system research and its application on industrial robot and surgical robot. His research won the “Best Paper Award” in IEEE ROBIO. Dr. Liu also engaged in technical startups. He was co-founder of Flying Robot company which won more than 3.5 million USD crowdfunds from Indiegogo and got 20 million RMB Pre-A investment from Shenzhen Green Pine Capital.
