Associate Professor
Department of Ocean Science and Engineering
Dr. Xinxin Li received her Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from Texas A&M University in 2013. Her research interest is marine organic biogeochemistry. She studies the fate of organic carbon from estuaries, nearshore to trenches, and their interactions with eutrophication, hypoxia, and global climate change, using the tools of stable and radiocarbon isotopes, organic biomarkers, and microbial community dynamics and processes. She has published 30 peer-reviewed papers in journals of Geophysical Research Letters, Marine Chemistry, JGR-Biogeosciences, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta etc..
Personal Profile
Dr. Li Xinxin received her Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from Texas A&M University in 2013. She mainly uses biomarkers and other methods to study the biogeochemical cycling of organic carbon from the estuaries, open ocean to trenches, and their interactions with eutrophication, hypoxia, and global climate change. She is a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She has published 21 peer-reviewed papers and an international seawater nutrition standard report (76 authors) in marine science journals such as Marine Chemistry, JGR-Biogeosciences, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta.
