Dr. Dongfang Jia is currently an associate professor of College of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering at Tianjin University, the director of the second research office of optoelectronics. He got the Ph.D. degree in physical electronics from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2002. In recent years, he mainly engages in the research of nonlinear fiber optics, optical fiber communication and sensing technology, and integrated optics. As principal investigator or major participant, he undertakes 10 research projects, which are funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National 973 project, etc. During the past ten years, as the author or co-author, he has published 60 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. He has also translated eight books adopted worldwide as textbooks in many universities into Chinese.
