力学与航空航天工程系成立于2015年12月,是南科大工学院重点建设院系之一。力学与航空航天工程系充分借鉴世界一流大学相关院系的办学模式,面向国家在力学、航空航天、创新拔尖人才培养等方面的战略需求,立足于重要前沿基础研究和应用基础研究,目标是成为国际化的研究型机构。力学与航空航天工程系将引进创新办学体制,建设世界一流水平的、以“产学研”模式为中心的、与中国航空航天工业紧密联系的单位,为我国航空航天工业培养实用人才(学)、研发关键技术(研)、提供技术服务(产)。
